DR volleyball team vs. USA in Nations League

The Dominican senior women’s volleyball team, Las Reinas del Caribe, opens against the United States on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 in the 16-team FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League. The USA is the defending champion of the tournament. The League of Nations is second only to the Olympics in volleyball competitions. The tournament will be held from 31 May 31 to 3 July 2022, and the finals from 13 to 17 July.

The DR-USA match will be in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. The DR will also compete against teams from Canada, Brazil and Japan, Germany, Polland, and and Canada in week one of the tournament.

In week two from 14-19 June, the DR will compete against Brazil, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Korea and The Netherlands in Brasilia, Brazil.

In week three, the DR will match Bulgaria, Italy, China, Poland, Brazil, Korea and Thailand in Sofia, Bulgaria from 28 to 3 July.

The finals will be played 13-17 July in Ankara, Turkey.

In this year’s new competition format, 16 women’s teams will compete in pools of 8 teams over the three weeks of the pool phase, with each team competing in four matches each over six days of competition per week (Tuesday – Sunday). Eight teams per gender will then move into the final knockout phase of the competition.

The event is taking the world’s elite-level volleyball to 11 different host cities in ten countries, including Ankara, the stage of the women’s finals from 13 to 17 July.
