
The general coordinator of Citizen Participation, Joseph Abreu warns that the Ombudsman Office contracting with the UNDP is being done outside the mandate of Procurement Law 340-06.
Joseph Abreu joined those questioning the millionaire contracts that the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has been obtaining in purchases and contracting of goods and services for the government. Recently, the Ombudsman contracting with the UNDP has made headlines.
Regarding this last case, Abreu maintains that if the resources for the construction of the building come from the international organization, that is another matter, but if they are public resources, it is obligatory to abide by the law and the Constitution of the Republic in this regard.
