More rains forecast

Remnants of a tropical wave and a passing trough continue to bring rains and seasonal low temperatures nationwide. The Center for Emergency Operations (COE) has issued a yellow alert for thirteen provinces and a green alert for five. The rains are causing flooding of rivers, streams and creeks, and flash urban flooding. The rains could continue through Thursday, 7 July 2022.

On yellow alert are Greater Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Pedernales, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, La Altagracia, Peravia, Sánchez Ramírez, Monte Plata, La Romana, Azua and Barahona. Green alert is issued for La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Hato Mayor and El Seibo.

More frequent and intense rains are forecast for La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Azua, Barahona and Pedernales.
