
Spanish tourism’s Grupo Piñero and Soltour are flying in Sunday flights with tourists from Spain and Portugal this summer. The direct summer flights from Madrid are non-stop to the northeastern beach and adventure destination. The first flight arried on Sunday, 3 July 2022. The flight continues through 11 September 2022, for 12 direct flights from Madrid’s Barajas International Airport. The flights are into El Catey, Samana’s International Airport, Arecoa reports.
More than 3,000 tourists are to be flown this summer to the area bringing guests to the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts in Samaná.
To promote the Samaná vacations, Bahia Principe launched a short film on Samaná directed by Spanish film director and screenwriter Daniel Sánchez-Arévalo, winner of a Goya Award. The promotion features renowned Spanish actor Hugo Silva. The film, “The best version of the Caribbean, your best version,” is mainly centered on the attractions of Samana.
The promotional campaign was presented in Samaná at a meeting that brought together representatives of the Piñero Group, national and international authorities. Among those attending were Tammy Reynoso, Deputy Minister of Development – Ministry of Tourism; Mónika Infante, director of Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom); and on behalf of Grupo Piñero: Teresa Arizti, chief marketing officer (CMO) of Soltour Travel Partners; and Genaro Benítez, country manager of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts in the Dominican Republic.
Teresa Arizti, chief marketing officer (CMO) of Soltour Travel Partners highlighted that Samana awakens the curiosity of international tourists who are looking for a unique, complete and different experience in the destination that goes beyond the sun and beach offer.
Deputy Tourism Minister Tammy Reynoso explained that the direct flights to Samana are the result of perseverance, public-private synergy and connectivity. She says this is part of efforts to take the Dominican offer to the next level. The effort seeks to position the country as a complete and experiential destination that embraces respect for the environment and greater interaction with the communities.
