Arajet prepares for takeoff in August 2022

Arajet is getting ready to position itself as the Dominican Republic’s leading low cost carrier. The airline recently received its third and fourth Boeing 737 Max 8 jets. The airline is getting ready to lure Dominican and foreign travelers with attractive fares. The airline is based at Las Americas Intenational Airport (SDQ).

The airline announced the recent arrival of the “Jaragua” and the “Ojos Indígenas,” the newest to arrive of its fleet of four Boeing 737 Max 8 jets. “Pico Duarte” and “Valle Nuevo” arrived earlier this year. The Boeing 737 Max 8 jets are fitted for 185 passengers.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, executive president of Arajet, actively promotes the new fleet’s modernity. He said the brand new airplanes are in line with the new company’s philosophy of promoting the country’s main protected areas and its commitment to the environment and natural resources.

The new airplanes are fuel efficient enabling savings on maintenance and operating costs that are transferred to the passengers in reduced fares.

“I am moved to see this fleet of new aircraft straight from the factory, ready to start operations and provide Dominicans and all our foreign passengers low fares that will connect them quickly and efficiently with the continent from Santo Domingo,” said Pacheco.

Arajet has said that in less than a month the first destinations where the airline will be operating will be announced. Many cities in the Caribbean, Mexico, Salvador, Guatemala and Colombia will get direct connections to Las Americas International.

Arajet, which already has the certificate from the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) that allows it to start operations, is finalizing the process of obtaining the corresponding permits to start operations by the end of August.

The airline is getting ready to go to market and offer lower prices to all its passengers and a reliable and world-class service. The goal is to turn Santo Domingo into the Hub of the Caribbean, allowing improved connections between destinations in the Americas.
