Sunwing Airlines is authorized to fly Montreal (YUL) to Puerto Plata (POP) from 19 July 2022 18 October 2022. The Canadian airline will operate 14 roundtrip flights, with a frequency of one flight per week. Flights will be on Tuesdays. The goal is to transport 5,292 passengers on board the Boeing 737-800 aircraft that has capacity for 189 passengers.
José Ernesto Marte Piantini, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), says the flight is important as the Canadian market tourism recovers.
Sunwing Airlines mobilized 256,265 passengers in 1,793 operations from January 2021 to May 2022.
During the period January-May 2022, it has transported 171,508 passengers in operations between the Dominican Republic and Canada.
