Passengers departing via Las Americas beware

El Dia newspaper warns travelers using Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) to set aside an extra hour or two because the Santo Domingo airport has changed its check in system. The change, reportedly, has been for the worse.

As reported, travelers flying out of the Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo are now experiencing long queues to get to Migration check points. El Dia reports several passengers have lost their flights due to the delays.

Changes to the migration check-in system have created delays lasting an hour more than with the previous system. The new system now groups all travelers together to cross through the personal and baggage screening area, and then these need to congregate again to cross through immigration.
