Dancers from eight countries are participating in the 16th International Contemporary Dance Festival (Edanco) taking place from Sunday, 25 September to 9 October 2022. Edmundo Poy organizes the event. He is also the director of the National Contemporary Dance Company.
Every year the dance festival invites international dancers to share with local dancers their knowledge of different styles and aesthetic innovations in the rich and diverse world of contemporary dance.
This year guest performers have come from Spain, Poland, Costa Rica, the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Cuba. Dominican contemporary dance groups are also performing.
The venues are the Máximo Avilés Blonda Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts, the Manuel Rueda Hall of the National Music Conservatory, the APEC University auditorium, the National School of Dance, the National Gallery of Fine Arts and the Cultural Center of Spain.
The cost of tickets to see the festival’s shows is RD$250.
