Eighteen Dominicans in the MLB playoffs

Albert Pujols ended his 2022 season, reaching career homer 703, a mark with which he passed Babe Ruth for the second-most RBIs in Major League history. He has announced plans to retire and then would become a candidate for the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame.

Dominican rookies — Julio Rodriguez, Jeremy Peña, Jhoan Duran and Felix Bautista made headlines throughout the regular season.

Now all four American League and National League Division Series opening games are on Tuesday, 11 October 2022 with clashes between the Braves-Phillies, Padres-Dodgers, Mariners-Astros and Guardians-Yankees.

The attention is on Aaron Judge as he goes for new records in home runs. Already, he has hit 62 runs and is still at it as the New York Yankees continue in the championship. He holds the American League single-season record and leads the majors in home runs, runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, OPS+, total bases, WAR and several other categories.

Yet, most Dominicans will be following the eighteen local players that will be competing as the MLB 2022 season comes to an end. The Dominican players are:
