The Tax Agency (DGII) opens the Vehicle Circulation Tax (marbete) renovation period. This is from Tuesday, 18 October 2022 through 31 January 2023. The cost of the circulation tax is the same: RD$1,500 for vehicles manufactured up to 2017 and RD$3,000 for those manufactured from 2018, inclusive, onwards.
The stickers can be obtained at 33 financial entities and cooperatives with 689 branches nationwide. It can also be sourced online through the DGII website until 15 January 2023. Only a legible photocopy of the vehicle registration is needed.
Some 1,684,837 vehicles need to renew the circulation tax.
There are penalties for not renewing on time.
