
The president of the National Association of Importers, Jose Antonio Alvarez says that the cost of a freight container from China has dropped from US$21,000 at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic to around US$7,500 at present. As reported in Diario Libre, he forecasts that in 2023, the freight cost should decline to around US$4,500. He mentioned freight cargo from Spain had been costing EUR14,000 and is now costing EUR6,500.
