Finalists in BHD contest on woman of the year

Banco BHD announced the ten finalists of the 7th Women Who Change the World Award. The annual contest recognizes outstanding women who work for the positive transformation of their communities and society in general.

The ten finalists chosen from more than 100 nominations submitted to the BHD in this edition are: Angelina Cartagena, Cinthia Núñez, Jacinta Torres, Julia Tavares-Bucher, Katherine Motyka, Laura Rojas, Mayra Johnson, Odile Villavizar, Samantha Canals and Seneyda Vargas (La Negra).

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 9 November 2022 and will be broadcast on national television.

The selection of the finalists was made by the award jury, made up of Claudia Catrain, specialist in corporate social responsibility; Huchi Lora, journalist; María Amalia León, executive director of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation; Oscar Villanueva, president of the Quiéreme Como Soy Foundation; Soledad Álvarez, philologist and poet; and Steven Puig, executive president of Banco BHD.

The criteria for selecting the finalists was based on the profile of the nominees, their contribution, their commitment and the sustainability of their work, by demonstrating measurable transformations and improvements in quantitative or qualitative terms.
