Arajet adds new routes to Ecuador

Arajet, the newest low-fare airline in the Caribbean, announced it will start flights to Quito (UIO) and Guayaquil (GYE) in Ecuador from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ). Arajet now flies from Las Americas International to 15 destinations in ten countries.

“We have promised to revolutionize the skies of the region and want to make sure we fulfill those promises to our customers with our lowest fares,” said Víctor Pachedo M´éndez, CEO and founder of Arajet. “We are on course to deliver 19 routes connecting 11 countries across the Americas from our home base in Santo Domingo by the end of 2022,” he said.

Arajet becomes the first airline to offer direct flights from Santo Domingo to Ecuador. Travelers to Quito can choose from one of two weekly frequencies on Mondays and Fridays. Those traveling to Guayaquil have the option of flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The low-cost carrier currently offers non-stop service from Santo Domingo to:

Mexico: Mexico City, Monterrey and Cancún
El Salvador: San Salvador
Costa Rica: San José
Guatemala: Guatemala City
Peru: Lima
Colombia: Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena
Caribbean: Saint Marteen, Aruba and Curacao

Arajet started operations with five new Boeing 737MAX8 aircrafts, and the airline is planning to add 12 more over the next two years to serve new frequencies in Central, South America, and the Caribbean, as well as 17 new destinations in the United States and two in Canada to support its expansion.

“We are building an international brand that is loved by Dominicans and foreigners alike and recognized all around the Americas. And we are excited to bring our unique value proposal and service to the approximately two million Dominicans living in the United States in the near future,” says Pacheco Méndez.
