The hospital ship USNS Comfort will be docking in the Dominican Republic to offer free health care services from 29 November to 3 December 2022. Services offered by the 1,000-man hospital ship’s multinational medical teams will be offered to the general public from 8am to 4pm at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center Santo Domingo and the multi-sports pavilion in Azua, Gabriel Hurst, of the US Embassy told Channel 9’s El Despertador TV program interviewers.
People can request eye exams, dental treatment, general and internal medicine, nursing, pediatrics, physiotherapy, radiology, optometry and pharmacy treatments.
The initiative is coordinated between the National Health Service of the Ministry of Public health, the Ministry of Defense, and the US Embassy.
