The Ministry of Education revoked the contracting of 101,340 desks for public schools with 12 companies. The contracts were for RD$239 million.
The companies have received 20% advance payment or a combined total of RD$47,863,961.90 but have not delivered what was contracted.
The Ministry of Education now under Minister Angel Hernández is carrying out a series of actions to correct major irregularities, especially those occurring in the past two years under former Minister Roberto Furcal.
