
The delivery company, PedidosYa says that the last call for work the late Luisinky Mojica Capellán had received was at 11:34am on Friday, 4 November 2022. Media reports have indicated that he had been attending to a Pedidos Ya call when he was swept away by rising waters in the flash floods of 4 November in Santo Domingo.
Delivery workers have protested the company had not contacted the family. The company says they have been in touch with the family and have collaborated with the authorities to clarify the facts. The company says they strictly adhere to the law and following the best national and international business practices, offering a quality service to the people who choose their services.
In a press release, the company says it is committed to the safety of delivery contractors and offers them a competitive source of income.
The company regretted the death of delivery man Luisinky Mojica Capellán, describing it as a regrettable and surprising event for the company. Yet, the company maintains he was not on a work call on the tragic night.

The death of the delivery man reminded many who choose to work for the service that they do not have the minimum benefits that are provided by the social security system.
