Victor Livio Cedeño appointed intendent at Superintendency of Securities

President Luis Abinader appointed Víctor Livio Cedeño Brea intendent for the Securities Market. Decree 726-22 dated 30 November 2022 carries the appointment.

Cedeño Brea is a lawyer specializing in economics and financial regulation. He is a doctor in Law and Economics (PhD) from the universities of Hamburg, Rotterdam and Bologna (2017).

He holds master’s degrees in Law and Finance (MSc) from Queen Mary, University of London (2012), and in Banking Law and Financial Regulation (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2008). He is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) law school.

Previously he had served as deputy manager for Regulation and Innovation of the Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic, in charge of the departments of Regulation, Innovation and Financial Regulation, Registers and Authorizations, Prevention of Money Laundering, Sanctions and Economic Studies and coordinated the technical committee of that supervisory body.

Víctor Livio Enmanuel Cedeño Brea is a university professor and had served as director of Research at the OMG Institute.

Earlier, the President appointed Ernesto Bournigal Read the new Superintendent of Securities by Decree 696-22.
