
Greater Santo Domingo’s forecast through Saturday, 14 January 2023 is heavy downpours as a trough passes through. The National National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecasts rains will be heaviest on the Caribbean coast.
The humidity is moving here from the North. Rain showers are also forecast for the north, northeast, southeast, the Central Mountain Range and the border with Haiti area.
Onamet forecasts low temperatures in the early morning, between 6°C and 12°C, in the mountains of Constanza, Jarabacoa (La Vega), Hondo Valle (Elías Piña) and Polo (Barahona), with temperatures ranging from -2°C to 4°C in Valle Nuevo and Pico Duarte in La Vega.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) declared a green alert for Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel (Bonao), Espaillat (Moca), Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís), María Trinidad Sánchez (Nagua), Samaná and Hato Mayor.
