
The Ministry of Public Health notified on Sunday, 15 January 2023 the confirming of two more cases of cholera. With these two, there have been 19 cholera confirmed cases in the Dominican Republic. There have been no deaths due to cholera.
The two most recent cases were of a 26-year old and 9-year old males from Haiti, residents in the municipality of Banica, Elias Piña province on the border with Haiti. There is an important outbreak of cholera in Haiti.
The Ministry of Public Health also said that there have been no more cases detected in the La Zurza area besides the Ozama River.
