
President Luis Abinader was in Barahona to supervise the completion of tourism infrastructure works that make the Barahona tourism experience better. The government invested RD$150 million in the works at the beach areas of Los Patos and El Quemaito, and roadworks to access the Riocito-Playa Saladillas.
The works were covered with funds from the Executing Committee of Infrastructures in Tourist Zones (Ceiztur) and within the National Program for the Equipment of Beaches and Spas implemented by the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), according to a press release.
The works encompass the reconstruction of the vendor plazas at Los Patos and El Quemaíto beaches; reconstruction of the Riocito-Playa Saladillas access road and the construction of sidewalks on both sides of this stretch over an extension of 2.2 kilometers.
