
Venezuelan Luis Mora (Doglocy-Inteja) received the trophy as champion of the 2023 edition and 44th Vuelta Independencia Nacional República Dominicana on Monday, 27 February 2023. Frenchman Guillaume Gaboriaud (Team France Défense) won the last stage of the race that took 24 teams to tour the Dominican Republic roads.
The runner ups were Venezuelan José Castillo (Venezuela País Futuro) and Colombian Juan Pablo Sossa (Iowa Latino-Racing Team).
Luis Mora defeated Dominican cyclist Nelson Ismael Sánchez, who was the defending champion. This is the 13th time a Venezuelan wins the race.
As far as the last stage is concerned, the French rider Guillaume Gaboriaud (Team France Défense) took the victory, after riding 140 kilometers around Santo Domingo, ahead of the Dominican Alberto Ramos (Asodocy NYC) and the Mexican Francisco Lara Carbajal (Iowa Latino-Racing Team).
Venezuela País Futuro finally won the overall team competition with a time of 75:01 hours, followed by JB Calzado Power, 8:08 minutes behind. Iowa Latino Cycling Club was third with 10:59 minutes. The most outstanding team in Monday’s stage was Asodocy NY, that had registered 9:39;54.
