The Ministry of Public Health is making 300,000 Pfizer children vaccines available for children whose parents may authorize vaccinating. Previously, children were vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine.
The Ministry began the vaccinations with the Pfizer vaccine usted in the United States at public schools this week.
Likewise, the Ministry of Education says it has begun a parasite control campaign to counteract intestinal parasitism in school children. The National Institute of Student Welfare (Inabie) is carrying out the campaign that was launched on Wednesday, 22 March 2023, on occasion of the National Deworming Day. The Ministry of Education seeks to impact more than 1,850,000 students in the Public Education System.
As every year, the campaign is carried out together with the Center for the Prevention and Control of Vector-borne and Zoonotic Diseases (Cecovez) with the backing of both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Health, following the recommendations of organizations such as the Pan American Health Organization (Paho) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
