Vice President to travel to Japan and South Korea on official visit

Vice President Raquel Peña will travel on an official visit to Japan and South Korea. Earlier the Presidency had announced President Abinader would visit South Korea in April. Likewise, the Embassy of Japan had issued a press release regarding an official visit of President Abinader to Tokyo in April.

The Presidency reports the mission to Japan is also made up by Industry & Commerce Minister Víctor Bisonó; Economy Minister Pável Isa; Robert Takata, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Japan; Ambassador of the DR in Korea, Federico Cuello; and Miguel Núñez, Ambassador-at-Large are other members of the official mission to the activities planned in Japan and South Korea.

In Japan, the Vice President will hold meetings with the diaspora. A visit to Hiroshima Prefecture, academic and cooperation dialogues, bilateral diplomatic and business meetings are planned.

In South Korea, the Vice President has a three-day official agenda that includes meetings at the government and business levels. The agenda has not yet been announced.

The Vice President leaves 31 March and returns 8 April for her official trip to Asia.
