
The Center for Emergency Operations (COE) keeps four provinces under weather alerts for Tuesday, 11 April 2023. The provinces under yellow alert are central Santiago and La Vega, Hato Mayor in the East and María Trinidad Sanchez in the Northeast for possible flooding due to heavy rains.
Provinces under green alert are central Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel (Bonao), Sánchez Ramírez (Cotuí), northeastern Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís), Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), and Espaillat (Moca) and Puerto Plata in the North.
A pre-frontal trough is crossing the nation bringing rains and chilly temperatures. The Weather Office (Onamet) says that on Tuesday, 11 April 2023, the trough will continue to bring rains to areas in the northwest, northeast, Central Mountain Range and border provinces, especially in the evening.
Low temperatures of 10 degrees are forecast for Constanza in La Vega, and lows of 18C for Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Samana, Montecristi. Lows of 20C are forecast for most of the country, with highs of 28C to 32C at noon.
