Deputy Miguel Gutierrez who is under arrest in Miami, Florida since May 2021 appears present in 19 sessions at the Chamber of Deputies after that date. Gutierrez is under arrest for charges of international drug trafficking. He is the deputy for the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party for the province of Santiago.
The irregularity in the attendance is attributed to a computer error, according to the spokesperson at the Chamber of Deputies. The media reports that Gutierrez was even recorded as present for the 27 of February 2023 state of the nation speech of President Luis Abinader with no one noticing the irregularity.
