Montefiori Health System to collaborate with UASD; extended assistance to Dominicans in New York

The Presidency signed a memorandum of understanding setting the framework for an agreement with the Montefiori Academic Health System of Medicine in New York and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) in the Dominican Republic. The initiative seeks to foster collaboration for better services for Dominicans living in New York.

The memorandum of understanding also addresses academic and technological aspects so that health professionals in the Dominican Republic can acquire knowledge and experience working hand in hand with the medical staff of Montefiore.

President Luis Abinader said that the initiative will help to integrate further the services of Montefiore, a public, state hospital in New York, that is also an academic hospital.

Montefiore Medical Center is a premier academic medical center and the primary teaching hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York City. Its main campus, the Henry and Lucy Moses Division, is located in the Norwood section of the northern Bronx.

Montefiore Health System consists of 14 hospitals; a primary and specialty care network of more than 180 locations across Westchester County, the lower Hudson Valley and the Bronx; an extended care facility; the Montefiore School of Nursing, and its own Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
