
President Luis Abinader and First Lady Raquel Arbaje travel Wednesday, 3 May 2023 to London to be at the coronation of Charles III and Camila as king and queen consort of the United Kingdom on 6 May 2023. The ceremony will be officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury at Westminster Abbey in London. The whole event will be broadcast around the world, with millions following the royal spectacle.
As reported in The Telegraph, there are more than 2,200 people included in the final guest list of the coronation, including members of the Royal family, representatives from 203 countries and approximately 100 heads of state.
The Presidency reported that President Luis Abinader and the First Lady will leave at noon via Miami to take a direct flight to London on Thursday morning.
On Friday, 5 May, President Abinader and the First Lady begin their formal coronation agenda attending a breakfast at Lancaster House, offered by the Royal Family to the representatives of island states.
At 5pm they will attend a reception offered to international delegations at Buckingham Palace, headed by His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen Consort Camilla.
On Saturday, 6 May, the day of the coronation, President Abinader and the First Lady will go to Church House and then to Westminster Abbey, where the ceremony will take place.
After the ceremony, the guests will attend a luncheon presided over by the UK Foreign Secretary and other senior officials.
President Abinader and the First Lady will return to the country on Sunday, 7 May in the evening.
In addition to the First Lady, President Abinader will be accompanied by the director of the Presidential Security Corps (CUSEP) Army General Jimmy Arias Grullón; his assistant and head of the Presidential Office, Lourdes Herrera; Eilyn Beltrán, chief of staff of the Presidency, and the President’s press officer, journalist Daniel García Archibald.
