The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecasts heavy downpours, thundershowers and wind gusts on Thursday, 4 May 2023, especially in the northwest, north, northeast, the Central mountain range and the Caribbean coast. The weather agency says a trough is passing over the country.
Onamet forecasts that temperatures will continue to be hot due to the warm wind from the southeast.
The weather forecasters recommend people wear light-colored clothes, avoid exposure to the sun without proper protection, especially between 11am and 4pm, and drink plenty of fluids.
