There is speculation in the media that the brother and sister of former President Danilo Medina, Alexis and Carmen Magalys Medina Sanchez, accused of billions in fraudulent operations, have lucked out. The court that will be hearing their case is the Second Collegiate Court of the National District.
Judges Claribel Nivar Arias, Kattherine Rubio and Yissel Soto of this court just two months ago absolved the former director of the National Lottery Luis Maisichell Dicent from involvement in the rigged lottery, despite sentencing all others that were accused. Likewise, this is the same court that cleared the main accused (former OMSA director Manuel Rivas) in the OMSA murder case of Yuniol Ramirez
