
The Senate and Chamber of Deputies have passed new civil aviation legislation with measures that seek to increase the competitiveness of Dominican Republic-based civil aviation. The bill moves to the Executive Branch for enactment. Its ruling needs to be prepared for the bill to go into effect.
The Fiscal Incentive Regime for National Commercial Civil Aviation had been submitted to Congress by the Executive Branch.
The bill establishes new domestic and international routes to and from strategic markets in the Dominican Republic and measures for the strengthening of the country’s position as a connection point for passenger and cargo transportation, trade, and international investments.
It amends civil aviation legislation and seeks to promote the competitiveness of the national airline industry through tax incentives.
