Diario Libre reports on several cases of young politicians who practically grew up in politics and are now moving ahead in their careers.

Omar Fernandez, 32 years old, is a deputy in Congress for the Fuerza del Pueblo. He is the son of three-time President Leonel Fernandez. He aspires to be the senator for the National District for his father’s party.

Diario Libre also mentions 43-year old Faride Raful, daughter of PRD-PRM politician Tony Raful (today ambassador in Rome, Italy), who seeks to repeat as senator for the ruling PRM.

32-year old Orlando Jorge Villegas, a former deputy, now seeks to run for Mayor in the National District for the PRM. He is the son of former Minister of Environment Orlando Jorge Mera.

Victor Fadul Lantigua, a 34-year old deputy, is the son of Jose Ramon Fadul, a former mayor, deputy, and minister for the PLD. He seeks to be the PLD candidate for mayor in Santiago.

Carlos Alberto Amarante Garcia, 32 years old, is a PLD deputy for the Espaillat province. His father is a former minister of education and Interior and Police. He opts to continue in the position for Espaillat.

34-year old Angel Estevez Estevez is a PLD deputy for La Vega. He is the son of former minister of Agriculture and Environment in the PLD government. He has not announced whether he will seek to repeat in the position.

34-year old Charlene Canaan Cabrera entered politics after the death of her father. She is a deputy for the Fuerza del Pueblo. She wants to be elected overseas deputy.

34-year old Rogelio Alfonso Genao is a deputy for the PRSC for La Vega. He is the son of senator Ramon Rogelio Genao, who also was deputy and is today the secretary general of the PRSC.
