The Dominican Republic U12 baseball team made it to the Super Round of the World Cup that begins 3 August 2023 in Taipei, Taiwan. The world title game is set for 6 August 2023.
The teams in the Super Round are now: Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
On the last day of the qualification round, Venezuela defeated Germany; Japan defeated Mexico and the DR defeated Panama. To make the finals, the US defeated Czechia and Korea beat New Zealand. Host Taipei is the only undefeated team in the tournament.
The Dominican team faced difficult competition from Panama to make the final round. The Dominican team eventually won 7-5 on the strength of its batters.
