The Ministry of Education officers told Diario Libre that the tender for public school buses is not over. Yet, the newspaper reports that Ramon Perez Figueroa, of the Central Nacional de Trabajadores Unidos (CNTU), told reporters his association had been allotted 50 of the 200 busses. He made the comment when attending the symbolic opening of the 2023-2024 school year by President Luis Abinader.
Diario Libre reports that Perez Figueroa later reached out to the newspaper saying that his comment had been a “lapsus.”
