The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) announces it has drafted an action plan against visual contamination caused by wiring in the National District.
Indotel says it is coordinating with the National District City Council to implement the “Plan en Contra de la Contaminación Visual por Cableado de la Ciudad de Santo Domingo.”
Indotel is calling for public telecommunications services concessionaires that own cables that are making unauthorized use of poles owned by the Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur Dominicana, S.A. (EdeSur) and the Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur Este, S.A., (EdeEste) to contact these institutions by the emails: egarciag@edesur.com.do and pfeliz@edeeste.com no later than Friday, 1 September 2023.
Indotel says that the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD), the National Transit and Land Transportation Agency (Intrant), the Traffic Safety and Land Transportation Agency (Digesett) and the utility provider companies are participating in the actions to rid the city of the surplus wiring.
