
Haiti Libre reports that the United Nations Security Council will meet on 15 September 2023 to decide on deploying a multinational force in Haiti. The draft resolution that authorizes the deployment of the force was submitted on 5 September 2023 to the 15 members of the Security Council. The force would be deployed under the name “Multinational Security Support Mission.”
As reported in Haiti Libre, during an interview with the French media “Le Point” Emmelie Prophète Milcé, Acting Minister of Justice and Public Security declared: “[…] in Haiti, alas, we can destroy everything, together in one day; but together we succeed in building nothing. Since 1804, when the native army chased out the French army, we have not joined together to make other conquests.”
