The Ministry of Tourism announced a new record of 7 million tourists for the first eight months of 2023. Minister Collado considered that the Dominican tourism sector is experiencing the best of times. He forecast the goal of 10 million tourists would be reached this year.
“We are talking that in eight months we have received 7,079,991 visitors, 31% more than in 2019, 136% more than in 2021 and 25% more than in 2022,” said Tourism Minister David Collado when giving the monthly tourism statistical update.
He reported 784,284 visitors arrived in August 2023, including 665,082 by air and 119,202 by sea.
