
The president of the Constitutional Court, Milton Ray Guevara, said that one of the biggest challenges ahead for the Constitutional Court is to achieve that all thge court’s rulings be implemented. He sat for the Grupo Corripio media group interview.
“A single sentence that is not implemented is an attack on the rule of law,” stressed Ray Guevara who will be leaving the position in December, after 12 years as presiding justice.
He said the implementation of rulings is followed by the Sentence Execution Monitoring Unit (UCES) at the Constitutional Court.
Ray Guevara reiterated that the court’s rulings are final, irrevocable, constituting binding precedents for public powers and all state bodies.
