Audrys Nin Reyes added a major difficulty in his turn and won gold in the men’s vault at the Santiago Pan American Games, defeating Brazilian Arthur Mariano and Canadian Felix Dolci. Nin Reyes had won gold in the Lima Pan American Games in 2019.
Nin Reyes had already secured a spot in the next Olympic Games by finishing in fifth place in overall.
On Wednesday, 25 October 2023, he finished 7th in artistic gymnastics, failing when adding two difficulties to his routine.
Nin Reyes is from Tamayo, Barahona.
The Dominican Republic moved to 8th place with nine medals — three gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
The other gold medals were won in Women’s Kyorugi Team (Taekwondo) and by Dahiana Ortiz in weightlifting.
