The Dominican poultry industry is exporting eggs to Cuba after losing its top buyer in Haiti. Diario Libre reports exports of 1,036,800 eggs to Cuba in the past three weeks.

The exports, though, are insufficient to replace the exports to Haiti that are on hold after the Dominican government shut down on 14 September 2023 sea, land and air borders. Only flights are now being allowed.

The DR also wants to export eggs to Aruba, Guyana, Martinique, St. Martin. Exports have begun to Guyana.
