
The Tourism Development Council of the Province of Hato Mayor (Codeprham) is celebrating the its Festival de Salves y Atabales Hato Mayor 2023, with the performance of artistic groups.
Ricardo Barceló and Bolívar Troncoso, president and vice president of Codepram, respectively, reported the folklore festival, that is in its second year, will be held on Saturday, 2 December 2023, on the grounds of the Parque Central in the municipality of El Valle, starting at 2pm.
The event highlights the ecotourism attractions of the province of Hato Mayor, including its authentic cultural manifestations. There will be live music, performances of folklore dances characteristic of the region, and there will also be contests and exhibitions.
Likewise, along with the exhibition and sale of crafts, the public will be able to taste dishes and meals representative of the gastronomy of this eastern destination. The most adventurous are invited to arrive early and take a dip in the nearby El Zumbador waterfall.
This year, the Cofradía Cultural Foundation, under the direction of the artist and sociologist Roldán Mármol, has joined the organization of the festival. Marmol is known for his efforts in creating the Polo Coffee Festival in Barahona.
