Marileidy Paulino wins Pan Am Sports’ Changeover Award

Dominican runner Marileidy Paulino won the Changemaker Award during the summer Panam Sports Award ceremony. The ceremony honored the best athletes in the recently ended Santiago de Chile Pan American Games.

Paulino was one of the superstar athletes such as Maggie Mac Neil, Osmar Olvera, Rebeca Andrade, and Javier Sotomayor who took the top honors at the 2023 Panam Sports Awards.

The second edition of the Panam Sports Awards celebrated the achievements of athletes, coaches and Olympic Committees across the Americas at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic was honored for her athletics performance in Santiago 2023 when she won two golds, one silver and one bronze (200m, Mixed 4x400m, Women’s 4x400m, Women’s 4x100m).

Panam Sports Award press release stated: “Now an Olympic, World and Pan American Games Champion, Marileidy is also inspiring thousands off the track. She created a foundation called “Creando Sonrisa Eterna” to provide support and resources to impoverished children in her country. Her work both on and off the field of play make her the winner of the Changemaker award.”
