Dr. Gerlyn Martinez understands more first aid education is needed for the Police and Digesett officers so they can save lives. She made the news when she spontaneously gave first aid to a man who had suffered a respiratory arrest on a street in Moca when she was passing by.
Her actions were captured on video by a policeman who she thought was illuminating her on the street as she assisted the man.
The action is highlighted as one of collective spirit in these Christmas times. Because of the increase in street crime, few people today will stop to help another person.
