Dominicans to take their case to US judiciary after being ignored in DR

Around 100 Dominican expats that invested in real estate projects promoted by Inmobiliaria Indisarg and CDR Equipos Pesados in the Dominican Republic protested that local authorities have not addressed the severe irregularities in these sales and announced they will be taking their case of real estate fraud to the media and institutions in the United States. They complain of having suffered losses when advancing upwards of US$4 million to purchase property and that the company still needs to deliver a suitable answer to their claims. They announced protests at airports to warn Dominican expats from investing in the country to avoid being victims as they have been.

“We will go to the three largest airports in the country to protest and spread leaflets warning that you cannot invest in that country because there is no legal security,” said Dayanara Borbón in a crowded press conference held at the La Parrillada de Dyckman restaurant in Upper Manhattan.

They alerted companies participating in real estate fairs in the United States that they will be there to alert against investing in the country. They protested the Dominican Association of Engineers and Architects (Codia) and the largest real estate vendor organization (Acoprovi) have not addressed the real estate fraud.
