The Ministry of Education is proud of the advances of the National Student Transportation System (TRAE), which today operates 148 routes (1,925 kilometers) with 409 buses. The buses are monitored using surveillance cameras to ensure the safe transport of the students of public schools nationwide.
The routes initially cover schools in Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Monte Plata and Hato Mayor in the East, explains Oneximo Gonzalez, director of the new National Student Transportation System (TRAE).
The service began in September 2023 in Greater Santo Domingo with 62 routes and 202 buses.
