Largest single win in the history of lotteries and games of chance in the DR

Lawyer Raúl de Jesús Caraballo Rojas has secured a place in Dominican lottery history with a record-breaking win of RD$431,875,000. He told CDN he had gambled RD$1,500 every Wednesday and Saturday in the same play 15 times combining the bets with plays in the Lotomas and SuperMas.

La Lotería Electrónica Internacional Dominicana (Leidsa) confirmed that Caraballo had received the official certification as the winner of nearly the entire RD$431 million jackpot from the Loto, Más, and Súper Más draw held on Saturday, 27 July 2024.

During this draw, a total of 16 winning plays were identified with the numbers 1-7-13-15-21-29, each receiving a portion of the 34 million pesos allocated for the Loto. Each winning play receives 2,125,000 pesos.

Caraballo’s fortune was particularly remarkable as he held 15 winning plays in the Loto, totaling RD$31,875,000. Two of his plays also matched the numbers 5 in Más and one matched the number 4 in Súper Más, earning him an additional RD$150 million and RD$250 million respectively—fixed amounts for these draws.

He had a government job at the Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potable y Alcantarillado (Inapa) that manages public aqueducts in the Dominican Republic.
