Dominicans don’t need visas to travel to Bolivia

In a significant move expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Bolivia and the Dominican Republic, both countries have signed a visa waiver agreement. This means Dominicans will no longer need to purchase a visa to travel to Bolivia and neither will Bolivians need a visa to travel to the DR.

The agreement was signed by Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda and Dominican Ambassador to Bolivia, Claudio Marte González.

The signing ceremony, held at the Bolivian Foreign Ministry’s Samaipata Hall, was attended by high-ranking government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and media representatives. The agreement is seen as a testament to the growing friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

“Today marks a significant milestone in the relationship between Bolivia and the Dominican Republic,” said Ambassador Marte. “This visa waiver agreement will not only make travel easier for our citizens but will also foster greater economic and cultural exchange between our two countries.” The agreement is expected to stimulate tourism, trade, and investment between the Dominican Republic and Bolivia.

The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Bolivia also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation between the Plurinational Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Bolivia and the Institute for Superior Education in Diplomacy and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Dominican Republic. The agreement will enable exchanging information and academic experiences on diplomat and consular officers training.
