The 11th Edition of the PhotoImagen art exhibition opened on Thursday, 22 August 2024 at the Modern Art Museum. The Modern Art Museum is now transformed into a hub of creativity and photographic talent, a celebration of photographic art and video that promises to continue making a significant impact on the cultural landscape. The public is invited to enjoy the exhibitions and celebrate the talent of the participating artists. The exhibitions will run until mid-October.
The exhibitions showcase a profound and diverse perspective on contemporary photography were unveiled. Notable among them are:
“Here and There: Winston Vargas portrays the Dominican community in Washington Heights (1960-2023)” – Curated by Carlos Acero Ruiz.
“Jenny Polanco. Flashback” – Curated by Orlando Isaac.
“Dominican Photography Groups: A Century in Images” – Curated by Carlos Acero Ruiz.
“Olivia and the Clouds” – Tomás Pichardo – Curated by Luis Graham.
“Representation and Identity” – René Peña & Marta María Pérez Bravo – Curated by Carlos Acero Ruiz.
