
The Dominican Republic has been selected to host the 41st session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in 2026.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Relations following the 40th session of ECLAC held in Lima, Peru. The Dominican Republic’s bid, presented jointly by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and Minister of Economy, Planning, and Development Pável Isa, was unanimously approved by member states.
The Dominican government expressed its pride in this achievement, seeing it as a testament to the country’s growing leadership role in the region under President Luis Abinader.
