Festival de la Cosecha Constanza from 17-20 October 2024

Constanza, the mountain valley town, is inviting all to the Festival de la Cosecha de Constanza. The annual event is ongoing from Thursday, 17 October to Sunday, 20 October on the grounds of the Constanza Domestic Airport. The airport remains open through the duration of the event, with many arriving by plane to attend the activities.

Maria Felisa Gutierrez, president of the Constanza Development Association, says the event this 2024 is dedicated to agritourism. The association seeks to show off the huge potential the area has as a tourism destination that offers mountain trails and visits to working farms as an attraction. Tourists can enjoy the particular gastronomy of this important food-producing area.

Constanza is from where the majority of the fresh produce sold in supermarkets and served in hotels comes from. It is described as the area that produces the most in a smaller area.

The area produces around 40 farm products. It is a major producer of garlic, potatoes (about 2 million quintals), carrots, lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, celery, strawberries, and recently macadamias. Constanza is also the biggest producer of flowers in the Dominican Republic.

The gastronomy of the area is one of the attractions because people can enjoy the fresh taste of 0 km dishes, or food made practically from farm to table.

During the Constanza Harvest Festival several farm businesses open to the visitations of the participants.

The Constanza Harvest Festival every year brings together leading business people who show off what they produce in the Constanza municipality.

The event features agriculture and environmental talks, gastronomy and agritourism activities.

Chiquito Team Band, El Varón de la Bachata, Jandy Ventura, la Banda Real y Manerra, have been contracted for the delight of those attending.

This is a family event with domino, chess, a family rally and a 5K race, an exhibition of Taekwondo and more.
