Appointed in July 2024 to the position, professional university manager Jose Ramon Holguin Brito is delivering new shine to the ITC, the country’s community college located in eastern Santo Domingo.
Holguín Brito revealed numerous purchasing processes have been managed from August to date.
“With our own resources, we have managed to acquire porcelain tiles and related materials for floor repairs; materials for the repair of cold rooms in the School of Gastronomy and the purchase of fans for the Institute’s classrooms,” the educator detailed.
Similarly, the rector reported on the “acquisition of centrifugal pumps, contracting repair services for ovens for the School of Gastronomy; purchase of paints for ITSC use; acquisition of food for gastronomy practices and acquisition of materials (fabrics) for the Fashion Design school.”
Likewise, the acquisition of materials for the “repair of lighting fixtures in the institution’s classrooms and laboratories; acquisition of materials for repairs to the side walls of building C2 and acquisition of materials for the repair of roofs of building K of the institution” has been managed, he explained.
Similarly, the necessary steps are being taken for the acquisition of “materials and utensils for Gastronomy classes; clinical simulators for the School of Nursing; acquisition of communication radios (security) and acquisition of motorcycles (perimeter security), the official reported.
Other dynamics that are being carried out have to do with the acquisition of sports uniforms, beds to be used in nursing laboratories and materials for the repair and maintenance of the sanitary discharge system, in the bathrooms of buildings C1 and C2.
“Likewise, we are working on the acquisition of materials for the repair of floors in buildings C1, C2 and K, plus the acquisition of licenses for the ITSC laboratories,” concluded Holguín Brito.
